Buffalo development, at a glance.
Explore the patterns. Get to know the projects behind them.
Projects by year
Inventory, reporting and historical proposal dates; not construction or completion years.
Select a bar to filter. A record with multiple years appears in each of those years; the summary counts each project once. Undated records are shown separately.
Projects by developer
Top developers and teams by project count.
Names are shown as recorded. Joint teams stay together; name variants are not merged. Use the developer filter to explore every name.
Projects by status
Statuses reflect available evidence and may not describe current conditions.

How to read these numbers
This is a growing collection of sourced projects, not a census of Buffalo development. The analytics use the same city browsing scope and minor-work classification as the map. Major development is shown by default; “Include minor work” also includes smaller and routine work.
Historical projects are hidden until you check “Show historical projects.” A year identifies a city inventory entry, dated reporting, or the stated year of a historical proposal. Forum publication and research dates are kept separate from proposal years. It does not measure projects started, completed, or active in that year. More records in a year may reflect better source coverage. Older statuses may be out of date; open a project for its evidence dates.
Developer counts use the recorded developer or team field, with whitespace cleaned up. Joint ventures are counted as one team, and spelling variants remain separate. Unidentified developers are excluded from the developer total and ranked chart, but their projects remain in all other counts and can be selected in the filter.
Distinct phases can have separate project records. The dashboard does not add reported budgets together: costs can describe different scopes, phases, purchases or financing and may overlap.
